Description
Discipulus Institute presents “Christology” with Fr. Chris Seiler.
“Who do you say that I am?”
This questioned posed to Simon Peter is THE question, one whose answer holds temporal and eternal weight. Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Is he simply a nice guy? A great moral teacher? Or is he God? This course will look at the historical foundations of Christian belief in Jesus of Nazareth. Having examined belief in the Divinity of Christ with the help of sacred scriptures, we will take a tour through the first six centuries of Church history to develop an understanding of Jesus as fully God and fully man.
We will read large portions of Dr. Brant Pitre’s “The Case for Jesus”. We will also read the texts of the early Church Councils and related patristic texts.
