Q: What is the most difficult part of being a parent?

A: The Kids

What job in the world offers you the opportunity to be a psychiatrist, a spiritual director, a manager, a chef, a servant, a handyman, an advisor, a janitor, a tutor, a dietician, a taxi driver, a detective, a police officer, a prison warden, a counselor, a trainer, a nurse, an activities director, a hazmat specialist, and so many other jobs at once, all coming with terrible hours, even worse pay, and the need to clean up a variety of “personal accidents”? Of course, the answer is parenting. But, if you offer your children real leadership, as opposed to dominance or mere acquiescence, the perks and retirement benefits make it the most worthwhile job in the world.

Every man is called to fatherhood, in one way or another, and every woman is called to motherhood. Both require leading others into the glorious freedom of the children of God. This is your calling, too.

Kathleen and Brian Niebrugge are right in the middle of raising 6 kids (ages 18 – 3). Kathleen is a Speech/Language Pathologist and a Home Educator. Brian runs the Office of Stewardship and the Annual Catholic Appeal for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. They are parishioners at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in beautiful South St. Louis County.

Join us for a great talk, delicious food, and margaritas at Hacienda! Doors open at 5:30pm and the talk will begin at 6pm.
