The STLYA community is pleased to present the second installment of our Summer Six-Pack Series, taking place on Tuesday June 11 with Dr. Cara Buskmiller, “Hot Topics in Reproductive Ethics.”
The theme for this year’s six-pack is “Hot Topics” where we will explore different hot-button issues and how to respond to them.
Many Catholics, despite strong faith and community, still struggle with the Church’s teachings on birth control, infertility treatments, and sterilization. The teachings seem out of touch, unfair, and inconsistent with the Church’s overall message of human flourishing. This talk will dispel some misinformation about the teachings, explain why the teachings are what they are, and point out how we can evangelize successfully about the beauty and freedom of these teachings.
Cara Buskmiller is a consecrated virgin in the archdiocese of St. Louis. She received a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College and is currently a chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Louis University. She is looking forward to maternal fetal medicine fellowship in Houston, Texas.
We are excited to have Dr. Buskmiller speak to our community about this Hot Topic! Doors open at 7 and the talk starts at 7:30! Arrive early to grab some dinner and then head upstairs for drinks and the talk!
