Office of Young Adult Ministry Intern

The Office of Young Adult Ministry serves young adults between the ages of 18-39. We seek to establish a lasting foundation for young adult ministry in our archdiocese, and we support vibrant and visible communities that empower young adults to grow in their relationship with Christ and His Church. Our staff collaborates with parishes, develops young adult leaders, supports young adult groups within the Archdiocese, and organizes events under the brand name of St. Louis Young Adults.

The Intern for the Office of Young Adult Ministry will gain valuable experience by assisting the office staff with the execution of several major Young Adult programs. These programs will include, but are not limited to, Theology on Tap, Discipulus Institute, AMDG Young Adult Retreat, and Emmaus Groups (small faith-sharing groups). Additional tasks will include programming development, office support, and large event logistics alongside diocesan staff. This paid summer internship program is for ten weeks, with applicants expected to work 35-40 hrs/wk.  Desired starting date is mid-May to early June.

Regular Responsibilities

  • Event planning and coordination
  • Graphic design projects
  • Curriculum development
  • Office support (mailings, recording meeting notes, research, copying, filing, phone calls and emails, etc.)
  • Compose blog posts for Louis Young Adults website (stlyoungadults.com)
  • Update website content

  • Strategic-planning for ministerial outreach to young adults
  • Organizational leadership and participant database management
  • Ongoing spiritual formation and education

 

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Video or audio editing experience is helpful
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms
  • Knowledge of the New Evangelization

  • All volunteers and employees of the Archdiocese of St. Louis—including interns—are required to submit to a background check, agree to a code of ethical conduct, and attend a “Protecting God’s Children Workshop”.
