Who We Are
We, the Xavier Young Adults of St. Francis Xavier College Church, form a welcoming community for young adults within our parish. We seek formation within the spiritual tradition of St. Ignatius, seek to encounter people who are on the margins of our society, and foster a sense of love, peace and dialogue within our community and our parish.
What we are up to:
We host two regular events as a group.
The first event is our “Tap into Faith” series, which features a guest speaker who speaks to various topics within theology and spirituality. We meet at Urban Chestnut (by Grand Center) for these on the first Wednesday of the month in their back room. Past topics have included: unaccompanied minors from Central America, ethical policing, the seven deadly sins, racial justice and the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Synod on the Family, and centering prayer.
The second event is our Bible Study which occurs every other Tuesday at the Parish Center on Lindell Blvd. We study a variety of topics decided by the group. Past topics have included: a study of the Mass, parables and readings for upcoming Sunday masses.
In addition to these events, we also hold reflection evenings in Advent and Lent, as well as service opportunities in the city.
